Candidate Statement - Local Board President ELECT
Since becoming involved in the Twin Cities Local I’ve found my focus always gravitates to creating opportunities for members, whether through educational or industry networking events at Catalyst Festival, contributing to our Local Strategic Plan, or the creation and expansion of the Film Production Tax Credit, and through these opportunities bringing members together to create community.
In these areas of involvement I’ve built relationships with Minnesota industry and labor leaders at the local, regional and state level, as well as with legislative partners at the Capitol. In my work on the tax credit, as a SAG-AFTRA organizer and co-chair of the Minnesota Film Alliance, I’ve made certain SAG-AFTRA and industry labor helped shape the direction and decisions of the legislative effort, while functioning as Chair of the weekly Minnesota Film Alliance Legislative Strategy Team meetings.
Twin Cities Local is on the threshold of a new market, filled with new opportunities and the chance to strengthen our performer and broadcast community. I hope you’ll vote for me as Local Board President to continue in this direction.
